REVIEW OF - "SONGS FROM THE BILSTON HOUSE"
ROCK SOCIETY

Here’s a jazzy, funky and bluesy coloured album that not many
other bands of this ilk do today. Guy Manning does not seem to
comply with any music rules and is one that does it his way. Not
instantly a voice that you take to either but one that grows on
you the more you listen.

As with his previous projects Guy draws on the perfect blend of
musicians and voices and even has a poster to programme the mind
on Bilston House. A creepy place it looks too, bit like the house
in the cult movie Psycho. Actually the inspiration for the album
comes from a hotel Guy stayed at in the Midlands, a hotel that
had a sign outside, ‘Do Not Enter Here! The Last Person Died!’
Not exactly inviting but thankfully the album is.

Excellent music and lyrics to match where many influences can be
heard. West Yorkshire might not be the seat of classic rock music
but credit where credit is due on an album that all 21st century
prog-rock aficionados should possess. Nice one Guy!
